You Only Get ONE Of These So Make It Awesome!

The other day I jumped into my Jeep and went for a drive in the mountains. I stopped at a trailhead and began to go on a simple hike. The purpose was to continue "the design." That would be the design of my life.

I'm not the kind of person who likes to just go with the flow or go where the wind blows. Breath and a heartbeat are pretty darn special. They are life! And it's your life and I've got my life. So let's keep creating and recreating this special gift called life!

Remember that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away! –Vicki Corona

As I was walking in the midst of pine trees and a lake, I began to recreate a new "list". I asked myself, "Self, what are some new aspirations you have?" I began to dream and then become hopeful and finally very excited! I developed new list of aspirations!

Here are are few pieces to get your list started. Remember, don't worry about getting a perfect list. Don't worry about dreaming too big or too small. Just get started.

Life is full of beauty. Notice it.

1. A THING TO DO

The most basic bucket list item is an event or experience. These one-time deals don't usually require training or even extraordinary expense. They just require planning and prioritizing.

Examples:

  • Attend the World Series

  • Climb a fourteener in Colorado

  • Eat dinner at a famous restaurant

  • Watch the entire Star Wars saga in one sitting with friends

2. A PLACE TO GO.

Maybe you have always wanted take a special vacation. Perhaps its a crazy destination or some excellent adventure.

Examples:

  • See the Pyramids in Egypt

  • Hike in Alaska

  • Visit 10 Major League baseball stadiums

  • Hike the Grand Canyon

3. A SKILL TO LEARN.

I have found that most people want to learn something, but never take the time to learn. This thing could be a hobby or some kind of personal discipline.

Examples:

  • Take a painting class

  • Learn how to play a musical instrument

  • Grow a bonsai garden

4. AN OBJECTIVE.

Your goal may come in many forms: athletic, financial, professional, etc.

Examples:

  • Run a marathon

  • Hike the Colorado Trail

  • Start an at-home business

5. A POSSESSION TO OBTAIN.

Maybe you have always wanted to have something really specific. It could be something you collect, rent, or own.

Examples:

  • Collect one of every Lincoln penny

  • Buy a really powerful telescope

  • Own a pool table

Okay, now its time to spend 20 minutes and write down your ideas. Remember there is no perfect list just a perfect start- by actually starting.😎
