Discover You & You Will Love Life!

I believe that a GREAT life happens when we can focus on what we do best.

First, I want you to describe your definition of a GREAT LIFE. Go ahead. Dream. What is a great life to you? Why? Because my definition of a great life can likely be different than your definition.

Amazing, fun, happy, fulfilling lives don't just happen. They are created. An amazing 5-course meal does not just evolve. No, it's created. So, do you want a great life? I sure hope so. Well, let's get creating!

Every human on the planet is gifted. You're gifted in your own extraordinary way, but sometimes we take our giftedness for granted. In fact, having unique differences is one of our best multipliers for success.

Have you ever really sat down for a bit and thought about what's naturally strong in you? Most people will sit for a bit and focus way more on what's wrong in them. We are kind of told that if we focus on what we are good at, we are a bit arrogant. Really?

I have just recently become a certified CliftonStrengths coach. I have a tremendous passion to help others experience their version of a GREAT life!

3 Things Great-Life People Do

1. Know what makes you unique and talented.

So many of my students will say, "I'm not talented or unique..." My reply is no one else on the planet of almost 8 billion people have your exact fingerprints. So, for starters, that makes you unique.

I've been working with students for 37 years. That's almost 4 decades! Every student I have encountered is unique and talented!

Take 180 seconds (3 minutes) and think about how awesome, unique and talented you are. Oh, wait! Do NOT compare yourself to others who are crazy talented. Just start with you.

2. Know who to ask what makes you unique and talented.

Many years ago, I asked my stepfather what kind of job he thought I'd be good at. He replied, "Son, you could sell sand at the seashore. You'd be great working with people." Holy crud was he ever right! I did not take up the profession of selling sand at the beach. However, at age 22 I began working with students. OMG! I'm so glad I asked someone who knew me well and that I could 100% trust their response.

Who in your life knows what's unique about you and would be inspiring and truthful to you? Is it a parent? A teacher? A coach? Who and then go ask them?

3. Know why taking the time to explore YOU is so very important.

Listen my friends, you only get ONE LIFE. I love what Mae West said," You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

One of the most tragic things that I ever experienced in my life was hearing my mother say shortly before she passed away was, "Oh son...I have so many regrets in my life. I could have been so much more..."

A great life is NOT something you postpone for the future; it's something you begin to design right now. Now as in the present.

Don't let your life just become the wind which is a breeze and then vanishes. You have the amazing power and opportunity to create your GREAT life. Go get it! Go capture it!

Your turn...

I'd love to hear from you. What's strong in you? What's unique about you? I'll be brave and start. I'm a person of positivity. I'm a unique story teller and a really good inspirational speaker. Okay, now you go, it's your turn...
