3 “Notes to Self” You Should Memorize Before the New Year Begins

Are you kidding me? 2020 is winding down and 2021 is so close to being here! With all that has happened in 2020, I'm looking so forward to—the happy holidays, and the normal times to return again. For me, 2020 has given me feelings ranging from sadness to anger to love to loneliness, to happiness to hope and gratitude. These feelings are all part of being a living, breathing human being, regardless of the season of our lives.

A few weeks ago, I wanted to revolt against the unfairness of life in 2020!—the unfairness of having to deal with pain, losing some to COVID-19, having to cope with uncertainty, having to feel lonely, uneasy and upset. Two weeks ago, I jumped on my bike and went for a bike ride hoping to get some better positive thoughts and all of a sudden, I realized I could embrace every experience life gives me, including all my highs and lows—all the wonderful moments and painful ones and everything in between. I realized that life is not just happy and comfortable 24/7. It’s well-rounded, it’s full-featured, and it’s real.

As I finished my bike ride, I realized something about myself, I'm not really into just surviving. I'm very much into thriving! In order for me to do this, I have to be intentional and not just hopeful. I want to make progress!

Making Progress into 2021

Yes, the New Year is rapidly approaching. Let’s make a deal together as we enter into 2021 with a GRIT DON'T QUIT attitude!
